A Normal Friday

A good representation of my room

Well, to start off this first blog I would like to mention that living with a triple and actually having a roommate is a welcome comfort for my stay at Trinity. Last year I had no roommate, he dropped out pretty soon into the school year, and one of my suitemates also ended up moving. The change is nice, and sometimes brings some interesting happenings along with it.

The past weekend seemed to bring a little of everything I expect from college. Went out on Friday, drank some mineral water, hung out with Kappa friends on Saturday, and  on Sunday, me, my roommate and suitemate worked our butts off for classes. Considering this overview, I would like to explain more about my Friday night, the more interesting of the three.

I'll start when I got back to the dorm (cause that is what this is about anyways, right?). I walked in the room, startled to find all of my roommates clothes and other belongings all over the floor and only the noise of his rattling fan in the midst. Wondering what was going on, I walked to my suitemates' room. I found them and probably 3 other people hanging out on their balcony smoking pipes (tobacco, people). By the way, this was around 2:30 in the morning when I joined these fellows. So we talked and hung out, then I remembered to ask if they had seen my roommate. They said no, I got distracted again, and maybe 15 minutes later I walked to my room finally to look around again. Sure enough, I found him in there, laying down on the floor next to his bed, wide awake, reading a newspaper. I burst out laughing, then asked why he was there, to which he only replied "Hold on, I'm gaining knowledge". And so, I let him be and walked to the other half of the suite, where the guys had now made their way from the balcony to their computers, playing online games like mad men. I said goodnight to them, and went to my room and soon went to bed.

The rooming situation for all of us really worked out, and we all get along great, and it is hard to not include more of the things that have happened due to constraints of this blog. However, Thomas is still such a unique living environment and I will hopefully be here for something interesting to report!
